It SNOWED last night! I was very skeptical when the weather forecasts predicted snow because I have noticed that Texans tend to overreact when it comes to Weather, with a capital W. Stores close, classes are canceled when there is nary a cloud in the sky, all because Weather may be on the way. So imagine my surprise this morning when I awoke to actual snow on the actual ground. School was canceled, Greg didn't have to go to work until noon. Once-a-decade snow is a big deal around here.
So we threw on a double layer of clothes and whatever boots we could find (do you like Nat's rain boots?), and of course Ella couldn't brave the tundra without her nose warmer. The teenagers next door were kind enough to build a rather nice snowman in the middle of the night so we didn't have to build our own. (I am especially fond of the film canister eyes. Who still has film canisters laying around?) We took a walk around the neighborhood and enjoyed crunching through the thin layer of snow and sliding around on the icy patches.
Happy Winter!

How fun! I bet there was some major excitement at your house! You just need a few more inches next time. (:
Did your mom make Ella's nose warmer? Any chance I could talk her into making one for me? Matt is always making fun that my nose is always cold. I do love Natalie's rain boots. :)
I didn't even realize it could snow in TEXAS? Thank your for the lovely Valentine. Gary and I love it. It's on the frig...Stay warm..
Even down here we got ice that morning. It was a great birthday present for Elizabeth!
